University Park - Highland Park

In the heart of Dallas, this enclave off Highway 75 is composed of two independent entities, the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park.

Each has it's own municipal operations. The affluent live and educate their children here. Higher income per capita residents make these zip codes their home. Highland Park Village in fact is the oldest shopping center in the U.S. The Park Cities are home to the Dallas Country Club, and Snider Plaza as well as the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Musuem.

University Park
is a city in Dallas County, an inner northern suburb of Dallas. University Park began as a cluster of homes surrounding Southern Methodist University in 1915. It has remained one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Dallas, and is surrounded by Dallas on three sides and the city of Highland Park to the south.

Addresses in University Park may use either "Dallas, Texas" or "University Park, Texas" as the city designation, although the United States Postal Service prefers the use of the "Dallas, Texas" for simplicity. The same is true for mail sent to Highland Park.

In terms of formal education, University Park was Texas' best educated city, edging out Highland Park, with 82.8% of adults age 25 years or older holding an associate degree or higher, and 80.5% of adult residents possessing a baccalaureate degree or higher. University Park is rated one of the wealthiest cities in the US.
